How long is a typical photographic sitting?
How long is a piece of string? It really depends on who we’re shooting and how well behaved they are! We normally say a children’s / family portraiture session lasts between 1-2 hours. This gives everyone a chance to stop playing up to the camera, relax and almost forget they’re being photographed. But if we have a baby in need of feeding or a nap, or a petulant terrible two who needs time to chill, then we will take as much time as we need to get the shots!
Do you require a deposit. We require 25% of the session price upon booking to secure your session with the remaining balance payable on the day of the session.
What if my child is ill on the day of the shoot? These things happen! Don’t worry, just call us and we can re-arrange the sitting at no extra cost.
How many pictures can I expect to receive? It depends on what kind of shoot but generally anywhere between 50-200 images for a bump and baby / children / family session to 600 for a Day in the Life shoot. I have a problem in that I LOVE taking pictures! These numbers are only estimates and may vary.
Do you shoot in Black + White or Colour? We shoot using the latest digital 35mm camera equipment. This means as well as there being no limit on the amount of images we can shoot for you all the images can be viewed and printed in black and white & colour, it’s up to you.
What should we wear? Anything you’d like! We think it’s important that you feel comfortable during your session so whatever you feel most like ‘you’ in! Also we capture children at play then it is important that you don’t dress them up in their extra special party outfit that cant get messy!! You are also welcome to have a couple of outfit changes during your sessions. If you would like to discuss your wardrobe choice with us before your session then don’t hesitate to call.
How far will you travel? As for as you’d like me to! I have photographed both weddings and families overseas. We obviously just have to discuss travel arrangements and costs. But generally, anything within a 2 hour drive from our office in Surrey is non-chargeable.
How long until I see the results from the shoot and how can I view them? Generally your pictures will be available to view within 7-10 days of the shoot date. We will give you a password so you can access your own private gallery on this website. This way also family and friends can view and purchase their own copies of the images, and you don’t have to get involved in taking orders and payments.
Who owns the copyright? The 1998 Copyright, Designs and Patents Act assigns copyright to Paparella / Nina Duncan. You may not copy the photographs taken or allow copies to be made photographically, electronically, or by any other means.
Can I buy just prints from you? Yes! Although we have a wide range of albums, frames, canvases and other fantastic display products on offer, you are welcome to just purchase prints from us.
How long are the images kept online? The images remain on the Paparella website under your private password for 3 months. If you require them to be accessible for longer then please let us know. Once they are removed we still hold backed up master copies of your images so you can come back to us long after your shoot and still order images should you wish to do so.
